Welcome to Mass on 23rd August for the 21st Sunday of Ordinary Time. See the Bulletin section of this website for all current info about prayer and church opening times. The cover image of this blog (Image credit: Unsplash collection) hints at the back story of Isaiah’s reason in the first reading for saying that the king’s chief steward, Shebna, wasn’t fit for office! Instead of faithfulness as the power to be employed, Shebna wanted to employ the power of political alliances. The Gospel then takes us into the moment when Jesus, via Peter, shares the authority to offer the power of divine mercy, with humanity! This is a remarkable dignity which stemmed from the recognition of Christ’s identity. Through that recognition, we also step up as images and channels of the living God; faces of Christ who is the face of the Father’s mercy.

>> Playing the Facebook Live Stream from here in the Parish Blog can be a bit glitchy to get started – If so, persevere and try it slowly a few times – it should  be fine
